Bosnia and Herzegovina travel guide

Modern day Bosnia is largely shaped by its Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian influenced history. This is reflected in the country's architecture. Baščaršija Bazaar in Bosnia's capital Sarajevo, comprises several structures built by the Ottomans when they ruled the country for over 300 years. The bazaar is a major tourist destination and an important landmark. Along the Miljacks River, you'll see examples of Austro-Hungarian architecture. Bosnia's more recent history saw the country devastated by a war that lasted 3 years. Today, you'll be able to learn about life during the conflict at the Sarajevo War Tunnel museum. The tunnel was constructed under the Sarajevo airport to link the city with the outside world.
