Arabic is most commonly spoken in Dammam, but you’ll find that English is widely used too.


Dammam’s hot climate ranges from temperatures of 17°C in winter and more than 40°C during summer.

Getting around

Make your way around Dammam by taxi - your hotel should be able to arrange one for you. Although buses within the city are limited, the Saudi Public Transport Company runs regular buses between Dammam and other cities. You can hire a car at a number of international agencies at the airport. Note: the minimum age for car hire ranges between 23 and 25 years. In addition, women are not allowed to drive on public roads in Saudi Arabia.
