Riyadh King Khalid International Airport (RUH) is where you’ll start your trip to Sarajevo. It’s easy to reach - only 30 minutes north of the city centre. Drive there and park at the airport, take a taxi or arrange a private transfer.
If you want to cut down your journey time, check in online before you arrive at RUH - this handy service is open between 24 hours and 90 minutes ahead of your flight’s departure. Alternatively, you can check in at one of the flydubai desks at the terminal and drop your bags off at the same time. Once that’s done, head through security and into the departures hall.
The first flight of your journey will take you from Riyadh to Dubai, only a short 1 hour 55 minute plane ride. Arrive into Dubai International Airport (DXB) and catch your connection to Sarajevo International Airport (SJJ). This leg of the journey takes just under six and a half hours. Touch down at SJJ and the heart of the Bosnian capital is only 20 minutes away. To reach the centre, you can arrange a private transfer or take a taxi from the stand outside of terminal B. Or make the most of your trip by hiring a car by exploring beyond Sarajevo.
Mosques, minarets and red roofed-houses punctuate the skies of Sarajevo. It’s this charming mix of architecture that creates the city’s unique fairy tale feel. From the neo-gothic Cathedral of Jesus’ Sacred Heart to the 16th-century Old Clock Tower, soak up Sarajevo’s beautiful sights when you wander the compact streets of its cultural centre. After a day spent exploring, refuel at one of the Sarajevo’s cafes – there’s plenty to choose from. You’ll fall in love with Bosnian cuisine as soon as you tuck into meat-stuffed pastries, fresh veal stew and succulent mince kebabs.
