Ok to board to Iraq

An Ok to board approval from flydubai is required only for passengers travelling to Baghdad, Najaf or Basra.

When you've booked and paid for your flydubai flight, please contact one of the flydubai Travel Shops to obtain the Ok to board approval. The minimum time required to receive the approval is 72 hours.

You'll need the following documents to apply:

  • your original visa;
  • your passport copy;
  • your booking confirmation.

Important: It is mandatory for passengers travelling on visit or tourist visa to Iraq to book their return flight on flydubai.

It is your responsibility to obtain the approval before your flight departure. If you arrive at the airport without an Ok to board approval, you will not be allowed to check in and board your flight. flydubai will not be responsible for any losses you may incur as a result, including providing any refund of any amount paid.

Ok to Board to Baghdad (BGW) and Najaf (NJF)

An Ok to board approval from Baghdad (BGW) Immigration is mandatory for nationals of Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, and Afghanistan

Sticker visas will only be accepted if the passenger has obtained it in their country of residence. Paper visa will be accepted if it is issued by the Ministry of Interior of Iraq. All passengers must ensure their passport has at least six months of validity and must contain two unused pages for entry and exit visas. 

Visa on arrival:  

  • All GCC and Lebanese nationals can obtain a visa on arrival in Iraq.
  • Female passengers married to a national of Iraq can obtain a visa on arrival. They must provide a marriage certificate issued in Iraq or a marriage certificate attested by the Iraq Embassy. Male passengers married to a female national of Iraq are not entitled to visa on arrival.
  • Passengers of Iraq origin holding a foreign passport can obtain a visa on arrival provided they have an Iraq ID. 

Important note:  

  • Israeli nationals are not permitted to enter Baghdad (BGW), even if they hold a valid visa. 
  • Kurdistan visa or resident card is not accepted for travel to Baghdad (BGW).

Ok to board to Basra (BSR)

An Ok to board approval from Basra (BSR) Immigration is mandatory for nationals of Ethiopia, Pakistan, India, and Afghanistan

Visa information for Sulaimaniyah (ISU) or Erbil (EBL)

Passengers travelling to Sulaimaniyah (ISU) or Erbil (EBL) do not require Ok to board approval

Passengers must hold one of the following types of valid entry permit: 

  • Paper visa issued by Kurdistan authorities;
  • Kurdistan resident card;
  • Iraq central government sticker visa on the passport. 

Sticker visas will only be accepted if the passenger has obtained it in their country of residence. Paper visa will be accepted if it is issued by the Ministry of Interior of Iraq. Passengers must also ensure their passport has at least six months of validity and must contain two unused pages for entry and exit visas.

  • Iraq central government paper visa and Ziyarat visa will not be accepted for travel to Sulaimaniyah (ISU) or Erbil (EBL).
  • Israeli nationals are not permitted to enter Sulaimaniyah (ISU) or Erbil (EBL), even if they hold a valid visa.
