Documents needed for travelling
 
Effective from 15 November 2021
  • passengers arriving in and departing from Ethiopia must verify their negative COVID-19 certificate at https://trustedtravel.panabios.org by using the same email address that has been registered with the testing laboratory.
  • Passengers departing from a country that doesn’t have a PanaBIOS registered lab (Trusted Lab) can upload their negative COVID-19 certificate at https://globalhaven.org/ and signing up for an account.
  • To upload the certificate passengers need to log in or register at https://globalhaven.org/ or https://trustedtravel.panabios.org and click the "Check in" button on the dashboard. This will generate a Trusted Travel code (TT code) that is automatically integrated with PanaBIOS Electronic System. For any assistance, please contact globalhaven@panabios.org.

  • If the validity period of your test result is different in the country you are departing from or travelling to, you should follow the requirement which is most restrictive.
PCR test required to travel to Ethiopia
  • Please note, that all passengers travelling on this flight need to present two printed copies of a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result certificate in English.
  • You should arrive to Ethiopia within 120 hours (5 days) from the time of taking the test.
  • This does not apply to:
    • Children under the age of 10,
    • Holders of diplomatic, service, United Nations and African Union passport and their immediate family members.
  • Passengers who are unable to take the COVID-19 RT-PCR test before travelling, will not be allowed to board the flight.
  • The RT-PCR test result should display the following:
    • Passenger details
    • Type of COVID-19 RT-PCR test taken
    • Date and time of taking the test
Visa on arrival for Ethiopia
  • Ethiopian immigration has temporarily suspended visa on arrival provision for all passengers.
  • This does not apply to:
    • Passengers whose passport states their place of birth is Ethiopia*.
    • Passengers holding a confirmation letter from the Ethiopian immigration authorities that states they are granted a visa on arrival.
  • Passengers can now apply for an e-visa online at www.evisa.gov.et.
  • *Foreign citizens whose passport states their place of birth is Ethiopia need to get an OK to board approval in advance to be accepted on the flight and qualify for visa on arrival.
