Travel restrictions to Sudan

Who can travel?
  • Open to citizens and residents* of the United Arab Emirates
  • Open to citizens and residents of Sudan
  • Open to all visitors subject to meeting the entry requirements
  • Entry is now permitted for passengers traveling from or who have transited through India in the last 14 days.

Sudan Covid Travel Restrictions
 
Documents needed for travelling
  • Citizens of Sudan, arriving from Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and the United Arab Emirates must have:
    • a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test taken at most 72 hours before arrival. The test must be valid on arrival; or
    • a vaccination certificate showing that they have been fully vaccinated with an approved vaccine.
  • This does not apply to:
    • Passengers younger than 8 years
PCR test required to travel to Sudan
Until 19 March 2022,
  • Passengers arriving from Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa or Zimbabwe must have two negative COVID-19 PCR tests.
    • The first PCR test must be taken at most 24 hours before departure from the first embarkation point and
    • the second PCR test must be taken at most 6 hours before departure from the first embarkation point.
  • This does not apply to:
    • passengers younger than 8 years.
  • All passengers arriving from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland (Rep.), Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, the United States of America or the United Kingdom must have a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test taken at most 96 hours before arrival.
  • This does not apply to:
    • passengers below 8 years old.
  • All passengers arriving from a country other than Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland (Rep.), Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, the United States of America or the United Kingdom must have a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test taken at most 72 hours before arrival.
  • This does not apply to:
    • passengers below 8 years old
  • The test result must have a barcode, or a stamp, or a signature, or a QR code.
Quarantine Requirements
  • Passengers arriving from Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, or Zimbabwe are subject to quarantine.
Transiting via Sudan to Saudi Arabia
  • Passengers travelling from or who have visited Argentina, Brazil, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Portugal, Turkey, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States of America within the last 14 days are not permitted to transit Sudan with onward connections to Saudi Arabia.
  • This does not apply to:
    • citizens of Saudi Arabia,
    • their first-degree relatives
    • and domestic workers under Saudi citizen sponsorship when travelling together,
    • health workers
    • and diplomats.
