Connecting flights

You can transfer in Dubai to another flydubai flight without collecting your baggage in Dubai and without a UAE visa using our flydubai connect service.

So, for example, if you want to fly from Doha to Khartoum via Dubai, choose your destination of origin and your final destination when you search for a flight.

You’ll get a booking confirmation for Doha to Dubai and Doha to Khartoum. You check your baggage in at Doha and pick it up in Khartoum. See the flydubai baggage policy.

Connecting in Dubai

When you reach Dubai, go to the flydubai connect desk where your boarding pass and travel documents will be checked.

If you’ve bought a ticket with Emirates and part of your journey is with flydubai, you can pick up your baggage at your final destination – you won’t have to collect it in Dubai. 

Your journey

At some airports you’ll get a boarding pass for your entire journey, but at others you’ll only be given your boarding pass for your journey to Dubai. Emirates will give you another boarding pass in Dubai for your onward journey.

Please note:

• If you want to change your booking, you’ll need to contact Emirates.
• The Emirates baggage policy applies.
• You’ll need to have a valid Emirates e-ticket and the correct documents whether you check in with Emirates or flydubai

Arriving in Dubai

If you arrive on an Emirates flight, go to the central transfer desk in Terminal 3 (transfer desk K).

If you arrive on a flydubai flight, go to the transfer desk in Terminal 2.

You'll be given a boarding pass for your onward journey if you weren't given one when you checked in at the start of your journey.

Things you need to know

When you use Connections search, here’s how it works:

• you make separate bookings and each airline's booking, change, cancellation and baggage policies will apply
• you need to clear customs and immigration at the international transit point
• you must collect your baggage at each transfer point
• you may need a visa to transfer to your next flight
• you need to check in for each flight

flydubai won’t be responsible:

• if you miss your connection (even if the flydubai flight is delayed)
• for your transit expenses
• for the cost of sending you back to your country of origin if you don’t have the correct documents at your final destination
• for any fines you get because you don't have valid travel documents

If you’re connecting to another airline, you'll need to contact them to confirm that they'll allow you to connect to flydubai.

To transfer in Dubai to or from a flydubai flight, you'll need to make two separate bookings: one on flydubai and one on another airline.

Please note:

• The flight you book to Dubai needs to arrive at least 3 hours before the scheduled departure of the second flight and you need to be at the boarding gate at least 45 minutes before take-off.
• If you don't have a UAE visa, the scheduled departure of the second flight needs to be within 24 hours of your arrival in Dubai.
• Without a UAE visa, you won’t be allowed to leave the airport.

Your journey

When you arrive at the check-in desk, tell the agent you're transferring onto another flight in Dubai. You'll need to show confirmation of your onward booking and/or ticket and your travel documents. Once your documents have been checked, your baggage will be tagged for Dubai.

If you're travelling on another airline, your boarding pass for your connecting flight will be issued at the Dnata transfer desk in arrivals at Dubai International Airport.

In Dubai

When you reach Dubai, go to the dnata transfer desk, where you'll be checked-in for your next flight and your bags will be re-tagged for your final destination. You’ll need to show your:

• onward ticket or flydubai booking confirmation
• valid travel documents for acceptance at your final destination
• your baggage tag if you checked in baggage at the start of your journey

Things you need to know

You need to make sure there’s enough transfer time in Dubai to connect to your next flight.

• if you miss your connection in Dubai (even if the flydubai flight is delayed)

• for any fines you get because you don't hold valid travel documents
