Delayed, lost or damaged baggage

Find out what you need to do if your baggage is delayed, damaged or lost while flying with flydubai.

Delayed baggage

If your baggage is missing on arrival of your flight, you'll need to report it to the baggage services desk at your arrival airport straight away. They'll assist you with making a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) which will have a unique reference number (PIR number). The more information you can provide about your bag and its contents will help us to find your bag more efficiently.

Once your baggage has been found, and where local laws allow, you'll be contacted by our local handling agent to arrange delivery, subject to customs clearance. If we are unable to deliver your baggage to you, you'll be asked to collect it from our local handling agent at your arrival airport.

If 3 days after your flight your baggage hasn't been found, please complete the Baggage inventory form (BIF) and send it to baggageservices@flydubai.com along with:

  • a scanned copy of the Property Irregularity Report (PIR) with the reference number (PIR number);
  • the booking reference for the flydubai flight you were travelling on when your bag went missing;
  • your contact number.

flydubai baggage team will take over the search for your baggage and contact you when they find it.

At this stage, we recommend you register a claim with your travel insurance. We can issue an insurance letter to support it. To get the letter please send an email to baggageservices@flydubai.com or send us a message via Contact us form, selecting ‘Baggage mishandled’ subject in the drop-down.

Missing items in baggage

If you discovered that some of the items in your bag are missing after you received your baggage, please report it immediately to the local handling agent or contact baggageservices@flydubai.com.

Lost baggage

If your bag has been missing for more than 21 days, please send an email to baggageservices@flydubai.com or send us a message via Contact us form, selecting ‘Baggage mishandled’ subject in the drop-down, attaching:

  • a completed Baggage Inventory Form (BIF);
  • reference number from Property Irregularity Report (PIR number) given to you at the airport when you reported your bag missing;
  • the booking reference for the flydubai flight you were travelling on when your bag went missing;
  • your contact number.

In the unfortunate event that your baggage is declared as lost, we will contact you in order to provide compensation as per the applicable convention. To find out how this amount is calculated, please see our Conditions of Carriage.

Damaged baggage

If your baggage has been damaged while you're flying with flydubai, you need to report it to the baggage services desk at your arrival airport straight away. They'll create a damage report with a unique reference number.

You then need to email a damage claim within 7 days from the date you received your baggage to baggageservices@flydubai.com or send us a message via Contact us form, selecting ‘Baggage mishandled’ subject in the drop-down along with:

  • a scanned copy of the damage report given to you by the handling agent;
  • a copy of the bag tag;
  • proof of excess baggage payments, if any;
  • a copy of your boarding pass;
  • the receipt for the repair to your baggage;
  • a photoof the damaged item.

If your baggage is damaged beyond repair, you need to get a letter from the repair shop to confirm this.
