Carrying special baggage? Read our rules and guidelines on smart bags, battery-powered wheelchairs, medical equipment, musical instruments, animals and more.
Smart bags have integrated lithium batteries that allow charging external devices, GPS tracking, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, self-weighing, and digital locking.
You can carry a smart bag as both checked and hand baggage, provided you meet the requirements.
The following restrictions apply for smart bags on all flydubai flights.
Please note: if the lithium battery is not removable and is more than 100Wh (for Li-ion) or 2g (for Li-metal), the smart bag will not be accepted for carriage as checked or hand baggage.
If you are travelling with a battery-powered wheelchair or mobility device, please check our Wheelchair and mobility assistance page for more information.
You may be able to carry small musical instruments as hand baggage if these do not exceed our allowed dimensions.
You can carry TVs as checked baggage on our flights. However, the size of the TV must not exceed more than 55 inches. Selected airports only allow TV size of 32 inches, please check with the airport(s) of your destination(s) for their rules and regulations.
Please note: there is a handling charge of AED 260 (USD 70) per TV unit larger than 32 inches which needs to be paid at the time of check-in at the airport. Weight of the TV will be considered as part of the baggage allowance mentioned in your booking.
Generally, you won't be allowed to carry any animals onboard our flights in hand baggage or checked baggage. You may be able to carry falcons onboard in hand baggage but this requires special prior approval. Please contact our customer support team for more details.
You can transport pets and other live animals through flydubai Cargo across all our destinations. Check our cargo page for more details.
