Travel restrictions to Georgia

Who can travel?

  • Citizens of Georgia
  • Open to citizens and residents of the United Arab Emirates
  • Spouses and children under 18 years of citizens of Georgia
  • Open to citizens and residents of European Union Member States, State of Israel, Republic of Turkey, Swiss Confederation, Kingdom of Norway, United States of America, Canada, The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, State of Qatar, State of Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Bahrein, Republic of Armenia, Republic of Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Republic of Moldova, Republic of Kazakhstan, Russian Federation, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Uzbekistan, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, People’s Republic of China, Japan, Republic of Korea, The Sultanate of Oman
  • Passengers with a COVID-19 vaccination certificate. The vaccination certificate must be in English and passengers must not have been in India in the past 14 days
  • Any person traveling from the Republic of India (regardless of citizenship and full course of vaccination) as well as persons with a history of travel to India during the last 14 days. They shall present a negative PCR test conducted in the last 72 hours prior to the visit to Georgia at the border and then undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine, at their own expense

COVID-19 restrictions :

All passengers must hold a printed copy of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken no more than 72 hours before arrival. This does not apply to:

  • Georgian citizens or visitors can travel with a document confirming the full course (two doses, one dose in case of Johnson&Johnson) of any COVID-19 vaccination at the border checkpoints of Georgia
  • Georgian citizens presenting the negative PCR test conducted within 72 hours prior to the visit, will be subject to either 8-day self-isolation or to the optional PCR examination at their own expense on the 3rd day of their stay in Georgia. If self-isolation is not possible, they will be subject to a mandatory quarantine;
  • If Georgian citizens fail to submit the document confirming the PCR examination at the border, they will be placed in self-isolation for 8 days, and if self-isolation is not possible, they will be subject to a mandatory quarantine
  • Citizens and residents of European Union Member States, State of Israel, Republic of Turkey, Swiss Confederation, Kingdom of Norway, United States of America, Canada, The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, State of Qatar, State of Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Bahrein, Republic of Armenia, Republic of Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Republic of Moldova, Republic of Kazakhstan, Russian Federation, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Uzbekistan, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, People’s Republic of China, Japan, Republic of Korea, The Sultanate of Oman can enter Georgia enter by air, land and sea under the conditions mentioned below:
    • They must travel directly from the above-mentioned countries, including transit travel through third countries;
    • At the border checkpoint they shall present a negative result of the PCR test conducted in the last 72 hours prior their visit to Georgia;
    • On the 3rd day of their stay, they are obliged to undergo PCR-examination at their own expense. Additionally, they must complete the online registration form  and present the confirmation email at check-in;
    • All individuals who have travelled to the Republic of India within the last 14 days will be placed in a mandatory quarantine for 14 days upon entry at their own expense. In this case, PCR-examination on 3rd day of their stay will be waived
  • Passengers entering Georgia with a COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate must complete the self-declaration form
  • Passengers with a residence permit issued by Saudi Arabia must have an official English translation of the residence permit
  • Any person traveling from the Republic of India (regardless of citizenship and full course of vaccination) as well as persons with a history of travel to India during the last 14 days. They shall present a negative PCR test conducted in the last 72 hours prior to the visit to Georgia at the border and then undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine, at their own expense
  • Indian students with approval for the study in Georgia departing from India are permitted to enter Georgia only when travelling on a special direct charter flight. Indian students with approval for the study in Georgia departing from India on a direct or indirect commercial flight will be not permitted to enter
Guideline COVID-19
  • All travellers are required to wear face masks at the airport and during flights
  • All travellers must complete the passenger information form  when arriving in Georgia
Is Georgia open for Tourists?
  • Passenger traveling by air from any countries may enter Georgia if they provide the document confirming the full course (two doses) of any COVID-19 vaccination at the border checkpoints of Georgia
  • If not done full course vaccination then have to follow the guidelines mentioned in “COVID-19 Restriction”
  • Other than any person coming from the Republic of India or who have a history of travel to the Republic of India during the last 14 days, they are subject to a negative result of the PCR test conducted in the last 72 hours before the visit to Georgia at the border and then a mandatory 14 days quarantine at his own expense
