Travel restrictions to Italy

Who can travel?
 

Open to all visitors subject to meeting the visa and passport entry requirements.

Italy Covid Travel Restrictions
 
Documents required for travelling
PCR required to travel to Italy
Passengers entering or transiting through Italy must have:
  • a negative COVID-19 antigen test result certificate from a test taken at most 48 hours before arrival; or
  • a negative COVID-19 LAMP, NAAT, PCR, RNA, RT-PCR or TMA test taken at most 72 hours before arrival; or
  • a COVID-19 recovery certificate issued at most 180 days before arrival; or
  • a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days and at most 270 days before arrival; or
  • a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated and received a booster dose.
  • Vaccines accepted are: AstraZeneca (SK Bioscience), AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Covishield, Janssen, Moderna, Nuvaxovid (Novavax) and Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty).
  • All documents must be in English, French, Italian or Spanish.
  • This does not apply to:
    • military personnel;
    • passengers younger than 6 years;
    • passengers arriving from San Marino or Vatican City (Holy See);
    • passengers who have started their journey in Ukraine.

  • Passengers could be subject to a COVID-19 test upon arrival.
Quarantine requirement
  • Passengers could be subject to self-isolation for 5 days.

  • This does not apply to passengers with:
