Travel restrictions to Iran

Who can travel?

  • Open to citizens and residents of Iran
  • Open to citizens and residents * of the United Arab Emirates
  • Open to all visitors subject to meeting the entry requirements

What do you need to travel?

All passengers travelling to Iran must have:

  • a COVID-19 vaccination certificate in English showing that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before arrival; OR
  • a negative COVID-19 PCR or RT-PCR test result certificate from a test taken at most 72 hours before arrival.

This does not apply to citizens of Iran and passengers below 12 years old.

Citizens of Iran could be subject to a COVID-19 test and quarantine upon arrival at their own expense.

E-visas can be obtained before departure at https://evisa.mfa.ir/en/. Passengers must have an e-visa confirmation and return/onward tickets.

Passengers can check the status of the e-visas issued by Iran online via https://evisatraveller.mfa.ir/en/request/status/ or scan the QR code on the top-left of the visa page. The visa status must show “issued” for passengers to be accepted.
