Temporary operations to & from Dubai World Central (DWC)
While a scheduled programme of runway maintenance and repair takes place at Dubai International (DXB) this spring/summer, we will continue to operate flights into and out of Terminals 2 and 3 at Dubai International (DXB), but selected flydubai flights will also operate into and out of Al Maktoum International Airport at Dubai World Central (DWC).
So if you’re travelling with flydubai between 09 May and 22 June 2022 to the following destinations, check your airport of arrival and departure carefully.

Why is flydubai operating from Dubai World Central (DWC)?
We’re temporarily operating selected flights from Dubai World Central (DWC) from 09 May to 22 June 2022 during the planned runway refurbishment project at Dubai International (DXB).
From 23 June 2022, the flying schedule returns to normal from DXB.
For how long will flights operate from DWC?
Flights will operate from DWC for 45 days – from 09 May to 22 June 2022. Before and after these dates, all flights will operate from DXB.
Is there public transport available at DWC?
There is a planned bus service operated by Dubai Airports between DWC and DXB:
- A free bus service between DXB T1, T2 and T3 and DWC will be running every half hour
- The RTA will deploy additional taxis
- Public transportation is available at DWC to numerous locations across Dubai including metro stations
Does flydubai have a dedicated bus service for flydubai passengers?
There won’t be a dedicated bus service for flydubai passengers however there is a planned bus service operated by Dubai Airports between DWC and DXB.
Can passengers transfer from DWC to DXB or vice versa?
Passengers connecting to another flight departing from another Dubai Airport will need to clear customs and immigration at the airport when they enter the UAE. This will require a visa into Dubai as per the passport holder’s nationality. Paid and free public transport is available for getting to the other airport, but it is their responsibility to ensure that they have left sufficient time to transfer and to make it to their next flight.
How far is DWC from the Dubai Marina and DXB?
DWC is about 20 minutes from the Marina and 1 hour from DXB. Journey times will vary depending on traffic.
Is the move to DWC permanent?
Upon the completion of the runway enhancement project on 22 June 2022, flydubai flights will resume from DXB.
Are there shops and cafes at DWC?
There are shops, cafes and duty-free stores available.
Is there free parking at DWC?
Yes, free parking is available at DWC.
Will there be flights available from DXB and DWC to the same destinations?

What if the passenger doesn’t hold visa/transit visa?
It’s the passenger’s responsibility to hold a valid visa for entry into Dubai.
What if the passenger shows up to the wrong terminal?
It’s the passenger’s responsibility to check their airport of departure before taking their flight from 09 May to 22 June 2022 to ensure they make their way to the correct airport. We advise all passengers to arrive at the check-in desks 2 to 3 hours prior to their flight departure time.
We encourage all passengers arriving in Dubai to check their airport of arrival and to remind anyone meeting them that they might be arriving at DWC.
Will there be a dedicated Business Class check-in desk for Business Class passengers at DWC?
There will be dedicated check-in desks that are used for Business Class, Platinum, Gold and Silver Skywards members at DWC.
Will there be a dedicated Business Class gate for boarding Business Class passengers at DWC?
There will be a priority boarding process for Business Class passengers.
Will there be a dedicated Business Class bus for boarding Business Class customers at DWC during departure?
Business Class passengers will be requested to board after Economy passengers have boarded for greater convenience and to reduce any waiting time.
Will there be a dedicated Business Class bus for all arriving Business Class passengers at DWC?
Business Class passengers will disembark first and board the bus as a priority.
