Somaliland travel guide

Somaliland's landscapes carry intriguing sites that are little known to visitors. One example of this is Laas Geel which lies on the outskirts of Hargeisa. The site consists of a series of caves containing some of the oldest paintings to ever be found in the Horn of Africa. The paintings of Laas Geel are particularly interesting because of their vivid colours and sharp depictions of humans and cattle. Another region worth visiting is Berbera on the north coast of Somaliland. The city boasts a number of local beaches, earning it the nickname "Beach City".
