Flying to Kilimanjaro and beyond

Flight operations between Dubai and Kilimanjaro have been temporarily discontinued.

Tanzania is a country tailor-made for adventures. From watching lions slink across sandy tracks to conquering the snow-capped summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, there are countless opportunities to experience the magic of this African destination.

Flying to Kilimanjaro

Unlock a beautiful natural world when you book a flight to Kilimanjaro with flydubai. We operate up to six weekly flights from Dubai to the spectacular Tanzanian region, the ultimate gateway to the rest of the country. From here you’re perfectly placed to take on Mount Kilimanjaro or embark on a safari adventure across Serengeti National Park.

From Dubai, you’ll cruise across Saudi Arabia, Yemen, the Gulf of Aden, Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya, before touching down at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).

Moshi, nestled at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, is the nearest city to the airport, only a short journey by car. Head here to begin the climb of a lifetime up the ‘Roof of Africa’. Trek through farmland, lush tropical rainforest, alpine meadows, arid landscapes and snow to reach Uhuru Peak, the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Here you can soak up the spectacular views from Africa’s highest point.

Serengeti National Park offers a more leisurely experience for travellers in Tanzania, particularly wildlife enthusiasts. There’s no place quite like it - it’s home to an array of animals, including cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, zebras, gazelles, and buffalos. Explore the seemingly endless stretch of grassland and watch lions prowl in search of food, herds of wildebeest roam across plains and giraffes graze.

Flying to Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam

Once you’ve ticked off Kilimanjaro, make the idyllic island of Zanzibar the next destination on your wish list. With up to eight direct flights to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) every week from Dubai, exploring this piece of African paradise is made easy with flydubai.

Fringed by the striking turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, Zanzibar dazzles all its visitors. Explore the breathtaking white sand beaches and crystal clear waters – snorkelling, diving, and kitesurfing adventures await.

Back on dry land, head for Stone Town on the west bank of Unguja. Wander through a labyrinth of alleyways, stumble upon historic architecture and marvel at waterfront palaces. Dedicate a morning to the town’s bustling curio stalls. Browse the local goods on offer at Darjani Bazaar - pick up spices, African jewellery and ebony carvings to take home with you.

flydubai also operates four flights every week to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s largest metropolis. Fly to Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR), located just 12 km south-west of the city.

Dive straight into Dar es Salaam life at the bustling Kivukoni Front. Find a myriad of influences etched into the city’s architecture as you wander its streets, from the Gothic St Joseph Cathedral to the African-Arabian-style State House.

Coco Beach beckons the weary traveller, offering the perfect antidote to the busy city. Unwind on the sandy shores four miles north of Dar es Salaam to the sounds of live music, before devouring local street food.
