What is the age a new born child can be carried with flydubai?

You can travel with a new born child (infant) once they are 7 days old. Whether you're travelling with flydubai or Emirates, the age regulation is the same.

Can I travel alone with more than one baby (infant)?

Yes, one adult passenger can travel with a maximum of two infants (7 days to 2 years old) under the following conditions:

  • One infant must be seated on the adult’s lap.
  • The second infant must be seated in an approved car-type safety seat in a seat next to the adult.

The additional seat must be booked in advance at the child fare by contacting our Customer Centre on +971 600 54 44 45.

Can I book a separate seat for my baby (infant)?

Yes, you can book a separate seat for your baby on the child fare. Your baby needs to be at least 7 days old and must travel in an approved car-type seat.

Can I use a car-type seat for my baby/child?

If you are travelling with an infant or a child aged 7 days to 3 years, you may use certain approved car-type safety seat, provided it meets the conditions below.

Infants under 2 years old do not get their own seat but if you want to use a car-type seat for an infant under 2, you must book and pay for a separate seat at the full child fare next to yours.

Your car seat will be checked and approved at the check-in desk before it can be used on board.

Car seat requirements:

  • Have a rigid back and base, and an integrated harness (minimum 2.5 cm wide), including lap, shoulder, and crotch straps.
  • Be clearly labelled as approved for aviation use, with operating instructions attached.
  • Be free from visible damage.
  • Be able to be secured using only the aircraft seat’s lap belt (no additional anchor points).
  • Be either:
    • Forward-facing: for children aged 7 days to 3 years.
    • Rearward-facing: for infants aged 7 days to 6 months or weighing less than 10 kg.
      Note: Rearward-facing seats cannot be used in business class seats with airbags.

Can I take a stroller on board?

Yes. Foldable/collapsible pushchairs and strollers meeting the permissible size and weight of hand baggage may be accepted for carriage in the cabin provided space is available. 

Pushchair/stroller should be stowed and secured in the overhead locker. Its stowage must not create an obstruction to cabin crew and passengers movement nor restrict access to safety equipment or emergency exit.

Does flydubai offer baby bassinets on board?

No, flydubai doesn’t offer baby bassinets on board. The infant must share their parent’s seat throughout the flight. If you wish to use a car-type seat for your baby, you’ll need to buy a seat next to you. For detailed information, please refer to the question ‘Can I use a car-type seat for my baby/child?’

Are infant meals available?

No. Infant meals are not available onboard, so we recommend bringing food suitable for your baby’s needs. For guidelines on carrying baby food on board, please read our Forbidden and restricted items page.

Does flydubai allow unaccompanied children on board?

No. We can’t carry a child under 12 years of age (on the date the flight commences) unless that child is accompanied by a parent or guardian who is at least 16 years of age.

Children aged 12 years and above may travel alone if they hold all the documents required by the origin and destination countries. Please check with the relevant embassy for restrictions and entry requirements related to unaccompanied minors.

What is the minimum age of adult passenger to accompany a child or an infant?

Adult passenger must be at least 16 years old or over to accompany a child or an infant and take full responsibility for them during the entire journey.

Can I carry children's ride-on suitcase on board?

You can take a ride-on suitcase on board as part of your hand baggage allowance, only if it is stored in the overhead locker. It must meet the maximum permitted size and weight of carry-on baggage and must not be used as a leg rest or a seat extension.

Ride-on suitcases include but are not limited to Trunki, Zinc Flyte, Kiddee Case, FOME and Jetkids.

Does flydubai accept child restraint devices on board?

Yes, we accept restraint devices on board provided they comply with our rules and regulations and have been cleared for use on board ahead of the flight. For detailed information, please refer to the Travelling with a restraint device page.
