Flying with your own wheelchair or mobility aid
Wheelchair
- We'll carry your wheelchair free of charge in addition to your checked baggage. Please get in touch with us if your wheelchair is part of sporting equipment.
- At most of the airports you’ll be able to bring your wheelchair up to the boarding gate where it'll be taken and put in the hold for the flight. It'll be waiting in the baggage hall when you arrive at your destination.
- If you are travelling with a battery-powered wheelchair or mobility device, please check our Special baggage page for more information.
- We accept any standard size wheelchairs of max 100 kg weight. Carriage of wheelchairs heavier than 100 kg is subject to prior approval. Any modified or non-standard models of wheelchairs might require review prior to acceptance.
Mobility aid or assistive device
The following types of mobility aids or assistive devices can be taken in the cabin, provided they meet safety and security rules and regulations and do not have any sharp edges or parts.
- Canes (including quad canes and forearm canes);
- Crutches (including axillary underarm crutches and lofstrand forearm crutches);
- Walkers (including rollators and knee walkers).
For safety reasons our cabin crew members will stow your mobility aid device in the overhead locker during taxi, take-off and landing.
Onboard wheelchairs
All our aircraft are equipped with a foldable wheelchair which you can use to move between your seat and washroom.
Our cabin crew will provide you the wheelchair on request; however, you need to be able to get in and out of the wheelchair and use washroom facilities on your own or with the help of your travel companion.
