Simply select the 'Hold my fare' option when booking your flight, pay the fee and get the extra time you need to decide.

You can hold an Economy Class booking for up to 24 hours or a Business Class booking for up to 72 hours.

Here is what you need to know

  • For just AED 29 your booking will be kept on hold with the same fare.

  • The holding duration varies based on the departure date and time, and the rules of the selected fare. When you select this option, you'll see the exact hold duration.

  • You can pay the ‘Hold my fare’ fee with any of the available payment options, but remember that only one can be used.

  • This fee is not part of your flight fare. It is paid separately and is non-refundable.

  • After you pay the 'Hold my fare' fee, you’ll need to pay for your booking within the holding time to confirm it.

  • If you don’t pay for your booking during the holding time, it will be automatically cancelled.

What is 'Hold my fare'?

'Hold my fare' is an option we offer you if you need more time to pay for your booking. 

For a small fee, you can put your booking on hold for a set time (the exact time will be shown during the booking), which gives you more flexibility to complete the payment.

How can I use 'Hold my fare' option?

When booking your flight on our website (on desktop or mobile site version), after selecting the flight and adding passenger details, select the ‘Hold my fare’ option on the 'Review booking details' page.

If you’re booking through the flydubai mobile app, select the ‘Hold my fare’ option on the ‘Select extras’ page.

You will be redirected to our payment page where you can pay the ‘Hold my fare’ fee with one of the available payment options.

Is 'Hold my fare' option available on all flights?

'Hold my fare' option is available on all flydubai flights, excluding interline and codeshare, where flight departure is no less than 50 hours from the time of booking.

However, if the flight departure is 50 hours from the time of booking, you must make the payment immediately.

Can I get a refund for 'Hold my fare' fee if I decide not to travel?

No, ‘Hold my fare’ fee is non-refundable. This fee is also not part of your flight fare.

How do I pay for my booking after I put it on hold?

When you are ready to pay, go to Manage booking, enter your booking reference number and last name. On the payment page, you can pay the total amount using any of the available payment options.

What happens if I don’t complete the payment within the holding time?

If you don’t complete payment within the specified holding time, the booking will be automatically cancelled.

What happens if the flight I booked is changed or cancelled while my booking is on hold?

If the flight you booked is rescheduled within the holding time, you may either accept this change and continue to pay for the booking with the same fare or you may get in touch with our Customer Centre to cancel the booking and request a refund.

Can I make changes to the flight when it's on hold with 'Hold my fare' option?

No, when you use 'Hold my fare' option and your booking is put on hold, you cannot make any changes until you pay for your booking.

Once the payment is completed, your booking will be confirmed and you'll be able to make modifications.

Can I use Skywards Miles to pay for 'Hold my fare' option?

No, you cannot pay 'Hold my fare' fee using Skywards Miles.
