India travel guide

India's dazzling mix of cultures, traditions, landscapes and cuisines will captivate you with each visit. The iconic Taj Mahal in the city of Agra is not to be missed. The vast mausoleum was built in the 17th century by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Today, Taj Mahal is considered one of the most impressive examples of Islamic architecture from the Mughal dynasty. In the state of Tamil Nadu, discover Brihadeeswarar Temple, a true landmark and one of the largest of Hindu temples. Brihadeeswarar features a main temple constructed entirely out of granite and several temple dieties. For a bit of relaxation, head to Kerala on India's Malabar coast. Alappuzha Beach is a very popular destination here, where you can rent a houseboat for a trip down Kerala's mystical backwaters.
